Our inspection fee is $150.
We only work The Woodlands and close proximity.  We do next day and typically can get you in the same day if you are in a pinch since we work such a small geographical area.  There are approximately 4700 pools in a nine mile radius in The Woodlands and close proximity.  We are a Father and Son owned business and work as a team.  We work in tandem during the inspection and both of us have our Certified Pool Operators and Inspections certification from the National Swimming Pool Foundation.  We provide a written report via email the same day.  If there are needed repairs, pricing can be provided upon request.  Below is a sample report...

INSPECTION DATE/TIME: 09/08/11 @ 10:00 a.m.

Weather Conditions: Sunny and Dry

VISUAL ASSESSMENT OF STRUCTURE:

1. INTERIOR FINISH…White plaster is overall in good condition.  There are some stains and hairline cracks.  There was no exposed gunite at the time of the inspection.  Plaster is still serving its intended purpose which is to make the structure water tight.  All blemishes are cosmetic in nature and no need for replaster at this time.  The life expectancy for this type of plaster is 10 to 15 years with the proper care and maintenance.

2. Tile and grouting...good.

3. Coping…One piece of flagstone is chipped.

4. Decking…Elevation of concrete is good.  There is plenty of exposed foundation on house and garage.  There is no drainage to the street; however there is a deck-o-drain along the foundation of the covered patio.  Both sides of the drain are dammed up with landscaping and does not allow water to exhaust out of drain.  Recommend clearing both side of drain for better drainage.

5. Pool is level.

6.  Elevation of the pool is good.  Pool has not settled.

MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT:

1.      Skimmers…The shallow end weir is sticking in the up position.

2. Main drain…dual drain system.  Drain covers are not VGB  certified.  This is only a recommendation not a code.  It is required for commercial pools and spas.  

3. Returns…good.

4. Lights…There are two lights in the pool and one in the spa.  All lights are in good working order.  The GFI works and is located by the equipment and is working properly.

5. Water feature…Waterfall has a separate pump and is in good working condition.

6. Pool Pump…Leak at suction and discharge side of pump.  Needs repair.

7. Filter...PSI is on the high end of normal when the cleaner valve is turned off.  Recommend routine cleaning.

8. Heater…400,000 btu heater.  Heater works.

9. Valves...Jandy valve for the 360 cleaner is leaking.  Needs repair

                        a.  Actuator valve for 360 is turned off and needs to be calibrated. 

10. Chemical feeder...This pool is equipped with a 320 inline chlorinator.  Good condition.

                         a.  This pool is also equipped with a Nature2 system.  The cartridge is missing.  Recommend replacing.

11. Auto cleaning equipment...The hose on the cleaner needs to be cut to fit the pool.  It is too long and stays in a knot.  Recommend new tail scrubber and wear ring on the tail.  There is a small leak at the energy filter.  Recommend new o-ring.  PSI gauge for the energy filter sticks.  Recommend replacing.

12. Equipment is bonded per code.

13. Gas meter...Good.  AC425

14. Equipment pad...good.

15. Fill line...none.  

16. Fences and Gates...the gates need to be self-closing and self-latching per code.  Needs repair. 

17. Overhead electrical line...none.

18. Slide/diving board...none. 

19. Spa…jets work well.             

20. Time clocks and controls…time clocks are working properly.  Recommend labeling the outside controller and the four function button at the spa.

21.  Water was clear at the time of the inspection.
